Thanks for the Memories - This is the End

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Cheer up everyone!

Gordon's as good as gone, taking his corrupt and incompetent government with him.

I refuse to believe that we could end up with a government that is made up of a Lib-Lab pact, since the Liberals' policies (amnesty for a million illegal immigrants, scrapping the replacement for Trident etc) are too left-wing for most of the Labour Party.

It's hard to make predictions but I can see a Conservative government being formed that is propped up by Ulster Unionists a real possibility. Could the Conservatives ever work with the Lib Dems? I guess it depends upon just how much both party leaders are prepared to concede principles to gain power.

But for Nu Labour, it is The End.

Brown toast from tomorrow.

Who in the Lib Dems does anyone recognise?

Vince Cable, my old mate Simon Hughes bless him, Cleggy of course, because he jumped up and got a few sound bites at a televised chat show!

And - um...

Ulster still is part of the UK isn't it?

Well, why not, there are some pretty formidable guys over there who could beat spots off the ones who'll go down tomorrow!

The party's over, it's time to call it a day...

I think we'll all be humming that lovely tune on Thursday.

We all hope you will find lots of new things to fulminate and photoshop about after all this current excitement passes.

It's a pity it didn't happen an election ago.

I do hope that Labour are annihilated and that the party implodes.

Scrobs: isn't it interesting how the LibDem surge hasn't really happened?

rvi: I'm with you on this. I have to admit that taking the Michael out of Dave and George may be a challenge that is beyond me.

E-K: Well said on both counts!

Morning Lakes; it really is depressing reading at the moment, and I'm supposed to be working, but can't concentrate.

Nobody I keep in touch with is around either, so it's a bit like Christmas all over again, but with no goodwill and definitely nothing to look forward to.

Dearie me what a mess.
I can't see Gordon leaving number 10 unless it's in a straight jacket.
I really thought Dave would win it, hands down.

Scrobs: I know how you feel. We had an election party at ours last night and this is a most unsatisfactory result.

Trubes: he certainly won't go willingly and I think the straitjacket is a distinct possibility as predicted back in May 2009!

Cheer up everyone! If Snottyfingers does somehow remain glued to his seat, at least we'll have the pleasure of seeing our host fulminate in violent technicolour for a few more months! See, every cloud has a silver lining!! Yay...

Frankly I'd rather have a short lived LabLib coalition arguing the finer points of PR/AV while the country goes further down the tube.

By the time they collapse the Tories should romp home, hopefully with a better leader than Cameron,to a clear majority and not have to pander to liberal nonsense like PR and the 'green economy'.
